About the USDA

The US Dept. of Agriculture’s (USDA) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and Small Business Technology Transfer (STTR) programs award grants to technology and science-based startups to support high-quality research related solving problems in agriculture and rural communities. The program’s goal is to stimulate technological innovation and increase private sector commercialization of innovations derived from USDA-supported research. USDA SBIR/STTR programs are administered exclusively by the National Institute of Food and Agriculture (NIFA).
